We met Mike Brussock the owner of Adobe Master Builders February 2019 while looking at one of the houses Adobe Master Builders built in the Pacifico Development in Playa Del Coco. We had toured dozens of houses with our Realtor and we could tell when we went into an Adobe Master Builders built home because the quality and finishing were Superior.
We originally wanted a turnkey house, but after spending time with Mike, touring his operations and woodshop, we felt confident Adobe could deliver what we wanted. We bought one of Adobe Master Builders Spec homes that were just a foundation at the time, picked all our finishing including, doors, framing, beds & furniture that Adobe Master Builders makes in their own woodshop, and left the country back home. It was difficult not being around to watch the daily progress however, Adobe communicated with us regularly and provided updates and pictures so we still felt connected to the project.
Six months later in September 2019 we were delivered a home that was absolutely beyond our expectations! Of course, nothing is ever perfect and there are always deficiencies in a project. Adobe Master Builders quickly worked with us to fix any issues quickly and efficiently. Adobe is the largest builder in the area and reputation matters very much to Mike and his crew. If you are looking to build a house in Costa Rica we strongly endorse and recommend Adobe Master Builders.
Building a home is not an easy decision especially outside your home country. However once we had decided to build in Playa del Coco, we wanted a great lot and a quality builder that we could trust. We talked to numerous home owners and viewed a wide range of homes, one name that consistently came up, was Mike Brussock and his team at Adobe Master Builders. Without exception, everyone said that if they were going to build again they would pick Mike and his team to build their home in Paradise.
Although at the start we were not able to meet Mike in person, we talked to him by phone as he helped and guided us, in the lot selection, the house size and design, obtaining the required permits, etc. In fact our house was under construction for 3 months before we even got around to meeting Mike, how’s that for trust! Mike and his team were, professional, attentive to detail, easy to work with, stayed the course and kept us fully informed throughout the entire building process.
Our beautiful home was “move in” ready September 2019 in Pacifico, Playa Del Coco. We could not have been more pleased with our Casa in Paradise. If we were going to build another home in Costa Rica, we would definitely use Mike and Adobe Master Builders, 100%.
They are truly professional and trustworthy in every way. Builders like this are very hard to find in Costa Rica. They recently completed the construction of a 6 bedroom vacation home for Russell Family Limited Partnership in Tamarindo Costa Rica. This development consisted of a large common area main house with six adjacent casitas and an infinity pool. When we told our friends we were building a house in Costa Rica while living in New York they all said we were crazy. Adobe Master Builders proved them wrong. From the moment Mike agreed to take over our project, we felt like we were in good hands. He allowed us to actually enjoy the process, mailing us pictures as they progressed, modifying the details as we went along, and never once compromising on the quality.

I strongly recommend Adobe Master Builders for your project. After agreeing on the design and costs, construction began on time and we were sent bi-weekly e-mail photographs on progress. Payments were phased and each phase was completed one time.

Recently, my wife and I completed the construction of a brand new, 3,000+ sqft home in the Guanacaste area of Costa Rica. The house also had an outside terrace and infinity pool of another 1,500 square feet which was also part of the construction. The Contractor and builder of the house was Mr. Mike Brussock of Adobe Master Builders. I cannot begin to adequately describe how pleased we were not only with Mr. Brussock’s attitude, communication skills, and all-around professionalism, not only of him, but his entire team of Architects, Planners, Engineers, and Work Crew.
The house we had built was an open floor plan, modern home which took full advantage of the incredible view we have of the ocean and surrounding hills. We have built in the United States other homes either from the ground up and/or modifying existing homes so we have had many experiences with other builders. I can without a doubt say that working with Mike and his team was by far the easiest and most pleasurable experience in home construction that we have ever experienced. Many people asked how we could build something of this magnitude while living so far from the project (our permanent residence is in the Los Angeles area) I had concerns and many fears myself at the beginning, but this was the easiest project due to Mike and his team.
The quality of workmanship was outstanding. Mike was very responsive to our numerous changes and never did we have any conflicts. His work was timely (even though we may have slowed things down) and he always remained positive, supportive, and fully explained everything he did that we had questions on. The issue of having a budget and our desire to stay close to that budget was never a problem. Any change orders would be presented and discussed in regards to the costs associated with budget line items. I never felt Mike tried to “pad” any numbers, and he always was patient with our sending funds as milestones were completed.
I can honestly say when my wife and I walked in to see the completed project we were blown away! It was even better than we had hoped for or imagined when we first started the project. The quality was great, the workers were responsive, and the timeliness and professionalism were outstanding.
We plan to live in the house for 3 – 4 months at a time for a few years and then hopefully make it more of or permanent residence. I look forward to each trip to stay there.
